Costa Rica has captured my heart and I have truly fallen in love with the authentic Pura Vida Lifestyle meaning the “Pure Simple Life”!
I have spent three winters in Costa Rica and have travelled the vast and diverse country. There is a reason I continue to want to go back! I often get asked where is my favourite place and it is hard to choose one spot. Oddly enough it is not the beach, however I do love the beaches as they are all so different. However, there is a special place in my heart for Arenal and the Lake district of Costa Rica. This is where I mostly feel energized and go to recharge away from the beach.
There are many beautiful accommodations and places to visit in the area. One of my absolute favourite is Rancho Margot. This place is heaven and a true jungle hidden gem! Unique, enchanting and beautifully remote, Rancho Margot is a hidden gem near Arenal Volcano. Nestled in the rainforest, Rancho Margot is Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge and is one of the country’s most exclusive getaways. At Rancho Margot, boutique accommodation and farm-to-table dining go hand-in-hand with sustainable and self-sufficient practices to create an unparalleled retreat experience. They have yoga on-site by a river in the jungle and the most delicious healthy food grown and sourced right on the property.
There is something so magical about this land and area. There are so many elements as you are close to the volcano, lakes, jungle and rainforest. There is so much to offer for both relaxation and adventure from hot springs, zip lining, white water rafting, hiking, yoga and hanging bridges. Some of my favourite places to visit are the Butterfly Conservatory, Mistico Hanging Bridges, one of the best dining experiences and overnight B & B stay at Gingerbread, La Fortuna waterfall, local hidden hot springs and a delicious healthy vegan lunch option at Organic Fortuna.
There are so many other amazing things to see and do in this area and I highly recommend spending some time exploring and adventuring before venturing to the beaches!
